Greetings from Mark Whitecotton

I could write a blurb about myself, like most bloggers do.  But, I thought I’d try something different.  I’m making my about me page an open thread for offline friends.  Leave a comment that describes me, to help readers know who I am!

Before the age of 9, I lived in Iowa, Texas, New York, and Maryland.  From the age of 9 up to the age of 22, I lived in Bel Air, Maryland.  Then I moved to Seattle.  I lived in the Northwest for many years; with a 2 year stay in Austin/San Antonio, before returning to the Mid-Atlantic.  I spend most of my time living on the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania (in between Ski Liberty, Roundtop, and Whitetail Ski Resort).  I (also) sometimes stay in Lancaster, PA, Joppa & Ocean Pines, MD.  At any rate, my name is Mark Whitecotton, and I’m 40-something.  I like talking about my dog.  I’m a Summer child.  I’m kind of tall and skinny (but not looking like I’m a victim of a famine).  My blog has no purpose, but to entertain myself & others.  Well, that’s not entirely true.  I (also) envision this site as an online biography with a warped sense of humor.  Plus, I’m single (and it makes for a fun hobby)!  Do readers want to know anything else?  Then read all of my friends’ comments, or email me a question at:

Mark Whitecotton is an amazing person! I am so lucky to call him friend. When I knew him best, sad to say that was over 20 years ago, he was a caring person who even in the face of so much adversity thrown his way maintained a positive attitude. Life is what you make of it and he has a knack for making life fun yet important and real. Thanks for being one of the best!

Mark is smart-witted, clever, and complimentary. Very much a humanitarian and honest. I am blessed to have him as a friend.

  4. I think I’ve found a new way to waste time on the internet!

Hi Mark ! I don’t see any current remarks but here goes….do you know if the sunflowers are still in bloom this late in the season?

    • Hi Martha. Most likely their peak has passed. I was there in early September, but just got around to blogging about it. Sorry if misled. However, I am sure there is still much to see if you were to travel this way.
